WOW

That was SUCH a good song! It was so relaxing and had a very smooth flow. I just sat back, relaxed, and enjoyed the music. Another interesting thing was it was the first song I heard on my new surround sound system :)

Keep these great songs up! And also, what program do you use? Feel free to check out my music.

HouseMasta responds:

FL Studio 5!

thanks for the review!

Good song!

I enjoyed this song a lot. I have some pointers, but I also have a lot of praise.

+ By introducing the violins the way you did, it seemed awkward, maybe they should have been at a lower volume when introduced and then gradually the volume is increased.
+sometimes when you went from one new instrument (or part) to the next, it wasn't very smooth, I'm not sure how you can fix that with the program you have.
+The strings and the brass have pretty bad sound qualities- they sounded fake- try fixing that up if you can.
+the ending was very abrupt, it looped well but you can still make a good loop without ending the song like that.

On to the pros....
+I loved the array of instruments you used, especially the xylophone/marimba thing and the guitar.
+It was a very emotional piece, which is good.
+It has a very nice feel to it, very fun to listen to.
+The notes you used were very good, especially the piano.

The good things about this song outweigh the bad by alot, but just try to work on some of these things. I may have forgotton to say a few things, but by judging the length of this review, I couldn't have missed much. I hope my suggestions work. Best of luck with your future songs. 4.5/5 (5/5 when i rate it)

Feel free to check out some of my music.

FlashChild responds:

thansk for da essay... sorry review. no that really helped. sum of the stuff you mentioned cannot be fixed withg the program i have im the samer age as you and cant really afford profesional stuff. like reason etc.
but ive taken that onboard and ill see if i can do that stuff wid my program which i dont thinki can but thanks for da review.

Great Job!!!

Wow, that was a really good song. Did you mix together live paino with computer created strings and drum backround or was this all made with a program? If so, what program do you use.

When I listened to the song, it just kept getting better and better until it ended [and it ended way too soon :(, it was too abrupt]. In came the drums, which were a nice twist, then theere were two pianos at the same time. I loved it all. This was a very inspiring piece and is worthy of a 5/5, so that's what I'll rate this (and most likely download)

While listening, the piano is so good, it makes the song so sad (which I like alot)

Feel free to check out some of my music!

MilkMan-Dan responds:

No program :)... all one small lil Yamaha Keyboard. Just a clever mix of reverbed piano and synth strings. And of course... a looped kit. At one point... their are 3 pianos. This was purely an experiment... that I loved. Thankyou for your review and I'll check out ur music.

HaHa, Metal Bat.. good name.

Though the guitar got kinda boring because it repeated, the whole song was really great. In fact the guitar riff sounding like something from Doom (I've actually never played the game before, but I have heard a couple Doom remixes on NG.) The drumming was really good, except I think you should have changed it around a bit.

The way you introduced all the elements of the song (the guitar, the bass, and the drums) was really good.

I also really liked that uhhh, can't describe it.... the other sound you had besides the bass, drums, and the guitar. But I didn't like when it carried on during the end, it was slightly annoying.

There are a couple things that could be improved, but overall a good song. 4/5

Feel free to check out any of my new songs.

Eric-S responds:

Yeah, Thanks dude, i also felt it needed to be improved.

WOW!!

That was a very beautiful piece of music. Is this a recorded piano, or did you make it off of a music program?

I thought it was very sad and full of emotion. I love sad music, it makes me feel very relaxed. Where did you get the idea of Crying "Birds". It's not really something I can picture, but that probably isn't why you choose that name. I can understand the crying part, because it is so sad.

I wish you could have made it slightly longer, add a violin or something, but it is all up to you and it came out great nonetheless. I hope this song stays up on the list. I rated it a 5 about a 3 weeks ago bringing it up to a 4.0, and I guess it's a 4.25 now. Reminds me of a couple of my classical songs where they gradually got higher and higher up the list (then went down a bit :) )

I heard float also, and that was a great song, but in my opinion this is better. Do you think you could make a song with an orchestra, I bet that would sound really great.

Well, keep up the great work, and best of luck with this song and all of your others. Feel free to check out my music when you get a chance.

Well, that was a long review, hehe, sorry for making you read so much :)

OsseDragon responds:

ooo.. a review.. I thought this would be rotting away by now.. but so we learn.. thanks alot for taking the time to write that.. :D

anyway.. to respond.. lesee..

it was recorded from my piano..directly.. I just used a program to record it 'n stuff.. but for the rest pretty much unedited

I actually also made an extended edition for it.. but yea.. not sure if thats worth posting.

over the time I made alot of other music, also orchestra stuffle.. with singing 'n all that.. but I dunno if I should post that here, seeing alot of people roam around here with maybe other intentions then just to listen to the music.. but yea. *ramble* maybe I'm just being paranoid.

I'll be sure to check out your stuff, thanks for taking the time to listen/write :D

Wow

I've never heard the original version of this song, but you made it sound so great!!! I love that guitar you used!! It was so.. powerful!

You should join or form a band soon, I bet it would be really great! This song reminds me of The Nightmare Before Christmas Heavy remake from Zombe Possesor, only because they both sounded really great.

Good job, oh, I gave Asylum a download also, and a 5.

rocker206 responds:

Yeah I thought it was pretty good as well. I could of mixed it better though :( but oh well. Thanks for the review!

Great job!

How do you come up with such great songs. That was probably my favorite solo of yours! I also liked how you incorporated that quieter guitar in the beginning before the lound one came came in.

Your songs are always so great!!, I think some of these deserve platinums. (crank, cover up, this). Good job!

rocker206 responds:

Wow thanks man!

That was great!!

Wow, that was really good!! I liked how for every theme of the song there was a different instrument. My favorite was at the end with the flute. I love flutes in classical songs, especially when they sound so real (and when they sound so sad...). If only that part could have been longer. I don't know exactly know how you went from one instrument to the next so smoothly (Did you fade out one instrument then fade in the next?) The drumming was great also... very tense and epic-ish.

Only one suggestion, and that is to make the brass instrument kinda echo a bit after each note, instead of the abrubt ending after every note.

Well, great song. You make great songs, but I like your classical the best.... please make more of it!!!!

I am definately rating this a 5/5 and will definately download this. Amazing job!!

Diabolo-ical responds:

:O I'm glad you like it. Unfortunately I've been tied down by college work recently, so music-making isn't exactly my first priority :)

Anyway, thanks very much for this review and the high rating.

AMAZING

That is why many of the big electronic bands use Reason. It is simply amazing, but even more amazing when someone like XsToRmEr1 (You have to type that all the time just to log in?!?!)is making the music with it. This song felt very airy and nice. The way you went from one part to the next was brilliant. I just got Reason today, and I've started my first song..... but I can't imagine myself making anything like this. Everything is so perfect. This must have taken hours of hard work to make. The way you made the reverb and the effects were just incredible. How long did it take you to get used to Reason and begin to make some good songs? I'm having a lot of trouble, I hope I get used to it soon, but there is so much that it offers that my mind almost hurts. Also, did the original version of this tune sound just the way you made it or did you add different parts, instruments, etc... Did you create that really cool eerie feel?

Well, amazing song to say the least, you have a knack for making great songs. It would be cool if you published some of your music, you definately have the ability to do so.

I gave this a 5/5, I wish I could give a 10/5.
I also downloaded this... I'm going to put this on my iPod once I buy one.

Feel free to check out my music.. but none of my Reason songs are posted yet.

This may be my longest review ever, either that or it ties with B0UNC3's Lands of Eternity [Final]

XsToRmEr1 responds:

I've had the name XsToRmEr1 for a very long time and I've become a pro at hitting the shift key in sync with typing the letters, so it's really easy.

Anyway, thanks for the very long review! I started using Reason last summer, and I'm still learning how to use. There's still so much I don't know, so much potential that I have yet unlock.

Unfortunately, the original song sounds very similar to this piece as far as notes go. Although, it's got a different feeling in my opinion. The eerie atmosphere that you were talking about just comes naturally to my songs, I guess. If you listen to my other work, that same spooky feeling is there, too.

I plan to release another remix of a DK2 song (partly because I love the soundtrack of DK2 so much), but this time it will be much more of a reMIX instead of a reMAKE.

If you wanna talk more you can contact me over AIM or e-mail me.

You've got to make this longer!!

That was amazing, if only it were longer. If you ever decide to make an extended version, you should put some drums in where the song ended.

I really liked the flute and the guitar a lot, they sounded so sad together. Kinda reminds me of a song of mine called peaceful sleep. This song would sound good in an RPG... but end credits or a game over screen are good ideas also.

I hope to hear a longer version!!

Good job.. 5/5 and a download!!!
Feel free to check out my music.

SuperTonic64 responds:

Maybe I will make a longer version! (I've been working on how to write percussion parts anyways, so maybe I will giveit a shot. :D)

To tell you the truth, I did write this for a RPG! :D But I will do something to try to make it better though. :)

Thanks for the review! ^_^
