Did you press your program's random button? It sounds like it.
There's really no melody here, and the samples sound terrible (I know they're intentionally 8-bit).
I think you need a different program, or maybe some more time commitment in order to produce better music.
Author's Response:
I placed every note with every virtual instrument and it took me a few hours to do so and refine it.
No randomness whatsoever.
Yes, there is a melody, you just don't get it.
Chip music is an acquired taste... I guess...

I really appreciate how you made this song 7+ minutes, because not only can I listen to something uninterrupted so long, but your song is great! I love the layered pads, synths, and drums, and the sound they produce together. This is a great ambient easy listening track that I will enjoy for a long time to come.

"I've always loved this tune!"
I love the clarity of your instruments and how you made slight variations on the original melody. Great song!

Your synth notes do not play well with the drums and bass, and they seem to drift aimlessly around the scale. Maybe that's a stylistic choice, but any style that makes the song annoying isn't good. Also, the song lacks depth. What I suggest: Change that synth and make a melody out of it. Also, I suggest using a stronger and crisper bass. I'm just not sure where this song is going at all.

"Really great to hear a new DnB song!"
Combine my favorite music genre and one of the best NG audio artists and you get an AMAZING song. The bass line and drums are extremely catchy and the lead synth is nice too. Overall, the production values are there 100%, and the sound is like that of Noisia or The Qemists. I hope you make some more of this jump up DnB or perhaps make this song longer.

I loved the beginning and the progression of the melody. I loved the synths and the drums (the ones before the climax). The first half was amazing and I expected an awesome Drum n' Bass song. However, the main part was a bit flawed. First, the drums sounded congested, the main melody wasn't as interesting as in the beginning, and there didn't seem to be a balance of the different instruments.
But dont get me wrong. I really enjoyed the song, I just feel some areas needed improvement.

"Honestly I didn't like it that much."
I heard nothing special in this song. There was a piano buildup, a lead synth, then a refrain with a heavy bass, the usual. I see a lot of people saying they are dancing in their seats and stuff like that, but I've heard more energetic trance songs before that are much more complex and interesting. Yes, the song sounds good, but the style itself is not unique, and so I've heard songs like this many times. I don't understand why this got first place, but I guess a lot of people like this type of music. For me, I prefer something more original and exciting.

I like how it sounds very relaxing. The progression is good throughout. And also, it sounded great in the game Ongaku.

"Great, just all your other songs!"
I've noticed a trend in all of your songs, which is an ever-present good-feeling. I've heard probably half your songs, from your dark industrial to this, or hillbilly breakout, or race around the world. Though songs like Strikebeam and Invaders are dark, their sounds are so intricate and layered that they leave me feeling good. Every song has a beginning, middle, and end, perfect progression, and an overall unique style. All of them have great sound quality, great rhythm and percussion, and many other qualities which can be attributed to professional music-making.
Keep it up!

I love this type of music so much... And the diversity of your song kept me listening the whole time. I also enjoyed the gritty-ness and the "sick acid riffs".
